Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 519-22, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 519-22, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 956
dated August 17, 2022, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for a multi-year lease for one Pitney Bowes Digital Mailing System for the Hawai`i
County Police Department.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate
monthly cost of$160.99.
There was no discussion on the measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year must be
approved by Council resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 519-22, and
recommends its adoption.
