Arakaki, Ex-Officio Member Re: Comm. 504: Bill 153, Bill 154 TMK: 6-4-1:Portion 41 With regard to changing the district classification from the agricultural to the urban district at Puukapu, Waimea, South Kohala, which includes approximately 7.634 acres and approximately 11.228 acres. We are here to represent home owners in the adjacent Puukapu Homesteads Subdivision, TMK: 6-4-01:Portion 42. We have each recently purchased approximately 5 or 6 acres of property zoned Ag-5. We purchased these properties with the intent of residing in a rural setting and being able to graze horses in a peaceful environment. We do not wish to have the adjacent property rezoned to Neighborhood Commercial, i.e. CN-10 or Single Family Residential, i.e. RS-10 and RS-20. Our subdivision was developed by Parker Ranch, and we understand from their representative, that Parker Ranch did request rezoning at the time of developing their subdivision. They were granted RS-20 zoning for only the portion of the subdivision immediately accessed from Mamalahoa Highway. (Please see attached map). The approximately 20 acres located behind this section has remained zoned Ag-5. This area consists of beautiful hills and grassy pastures with graceful old stands of eucalyptus trees. It would be a great tragedy to lose more of Waimea's natural charm by subdividing this agricultural area. We hope you will consider following the guidelines set at the time Puukapu Homesteads Subdivision was created, and allow only RS-20 lots near Mamalahoa Highway, preserving the remaining portion zoned Ag-5. Thank you very much. ~~~~I~~ Vanessa V. In, Robin Inaba, PeterA. In, Shinji fnaba, Stephen Hurwitz, Terry Smith. .c.~ Lynne . Trouchon CEO ~ OO~ pomm. Na ,J ~ttta No. z N G/K H ReP.
