COUNTY OF HAWAISTATE OF HA AI`I <br /> >,�Tg,oF,Na�r <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TOT E HILO <br /> EDUCATION ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT F ITS <br /> EATER PRODUCTIONS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to present theater, offer arts education, and provide <br /> theater-going opportunities to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART has produced recent community showings of Avenue Q, Beauty <br /> and the Beast, Biloxi Blues, Home for the HiloDays, LGBTQ Pride Day Concert, and Cabaret; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART is also producing The Lion King, Jr., to be performed in October, <br /> and Home for the HiloDays, in December; and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART has recently located to the East Hawaii Cultural Center and is in <br /> need of equipment and supplies for its theater productions; and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funds to assist with purchasing sound, lighting, and <br /> other physical production equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide a <br /> diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective <br /> communities in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre to assist <br /> with purchasing equipment for its theater productions. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
