AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
ESIGATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TOG IG HOME
AWAI`I FOR ITS COMMUNITY-BASED ENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING
PROGRAM INK NA.
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist
those that have been released from correctional institutions to reintegrate into the community;
and
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in Kona
assists men and women with reintegration into community life through employment, housing,
education, and appropriate services; and
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is seeking funds to help pay for expenses associated
with its community-based Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in Kona, such as office,
kitchen and bathroom supplies, and miscellaneous repairs and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the
criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other
criminal justice agencies and the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for its community-based
Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in Kona.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
