A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO EDUCATION
ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR ITS CONCERT AND THEATER PRODUCTIONS.
WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing arts education and performance opportunities for people of all
ages in Hawai‘i County; and
WHEREAS, through its Concerts in the Park series, Performing Arts Summer Camp, and its many performances at the Palace Theater and East Hawai‘i Cultural Center, HEART is becoming one
of the foremost theater companies on the island; and
WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funds to purchase computer and software equipment to conduct its concert and theater productions; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports educational and enrichment activities for all residents of Hawai‘i County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide
a grant to HEART to purchase equipment for its concert and theater productions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
