RESOLUTION CREATING TWENTY (20) NEW “ON CALL” (TEMPORARY) POSITIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources is in need of twenty (20) new On Call (Temp) positions for a pilot program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Parks and Recreation have partnered to develop an on-call pilot program; and
WHEREAS, these On Call (Temp) positions will be unfunded and utilized to provide day-to-day coverage for staffing shortages within the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that twenty (20) On Call (Temporary) positions be created in the Department of Human Resources.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the
Department of Human Resources and the Department of Finance.
