Sako via Communication No. 977 <br /> dated September 1, 2022, authorizes the Department of Research and Development to award funds to <br /> Hui Ho`olako for Hawaiian Initiatives. <br /> This resolution provides $500,000 of state-derived funds to renovate the Feed Mill at the University of <br /> Hawaii Hilo's Pana`ewa Farm and implement the Gorse Pilot Program feedstock study. <br /> Glenn Sako, Economic Development Specialist of Agriculture, provided comments in support of the <br /> measure, emphasizing the project as a means to control gorse and increase livestock feed production. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kdneali`i-Kleinfelder and Committee Members Herbert M. "Tim"Richards III, <br /> and Aaron S. Y.
