A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAI‘I,
INC., TO SUPPORT THE 2022 ‘AUAMO KULEANA DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUMMIT.
WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai‘i, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps families, youth, and single adults located throughout Hawai‘i Island attain social and economic
assistance; and
WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai‘i, Inc., is the fiscal sponsor for Hawai‘i Community College’s ‘Auamo Kuleana (It’s Our Kuleana) Domestic Violence Summit; and
WHEREAS, the ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit takes place on October 21, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hawai‘i Community College; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Community College’s Culinary Arts program will provide food and beverages and the Creative Arts program will provide reusable bags and mini first aid kits to attendees;
and
WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai‘i, Inc., is requesting funds to assist with acquiring supplies, materials, and food for the ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support alcohol-free and drug-free community events; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to HOPE Services Hawai‘i, Inc., for the 2022 ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
