RE: Civil Defense Grant
The State Department of Defense, Civil Defense Division, has made $10,000 available to the
County Civil Defense Agency to support Y2K preparedness and community awazeness.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating these funds.
Also enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County of Hawaii to enter into an agreement with
the State Civil Defense for this Y2K preparedness grant.
If there are any questions, please call the Civil Defense Agency.

A. REQUEST:
A County Council Kesolution authorizing acceptance of ten-thousand and 00/100
($10,000.00) from the Department of Defense, Civil Defense Division. Also
an ordinance amending the budget to include these funds.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FE?`1A) has made available funding to
State Civil Defense to support Y2K preparedness and community awareness.
State Civil Defense, in turn, has made available $10,000.00 to Hawaii
County to accomplish the same.
