Chung, Council Member <br /> IV Council District 2 <br /> SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 220; An Ordinance Amending Chapter 14 of <br /> the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), by Adding a New <br /> Article Relating to Licenses to Carry Concealed and Unconcealed Firearms <br /> Within the County. <br /> Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 220. The proposed amendment is illustrated <br /> in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 220 (material to be deleted is <br /> bracketed and stricken, and new material is underscored). <br /> The new section pertaining to "Sensitive places prohibition; exceptions" is amended by <br /> amending subsections (a) and (b)to read as follows: <br /> "Section 14-_ Sensitive places prohibition; exceptions. <br /> (a) Any person granted a license to carry a concealed or unconcealed firearm shall not carry <br /> such licensed firearm in the following sensitive places: <br /> (1) Hospitals, medical facilities, medical offices, and/or medical clinics; <br /> (2) Schools, colleges, universities, and/or places where persons are assembled for <br /> educational, literary, or scientific purposes; <br /> (3) Daycare centers, playgrounds, parks, and/or other places where children gather; <br /> (4) Any churches or religious assemblies; <br /> (5) Voter service centers or places of deposit, and any appurtenances thereto, as defined <br /> by section 11-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes; <br /> (6) Places where people are assembled for an event, social gathering, rally, <br /> demonstration, or public exhibition that requires the issuance of a permit; <br /> (7) Bars, restaurants, and establishments that serve intoxicating beverages; <br /> (8) Airports, public transit facilities, and public transit vehicles; <br /> Comm, No. <br /> Ref.To: PPISCI ' <br /> Ref.'DatOCT - .L4,202? <br /> Hawai`i County Is An Equal Opportunity Provider And Employer <br />
