RESOLUTION NO. 584 2
RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 743-20 AUTHORIZING
THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TOA ARD FUNDS TO VARIOUS
NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH THE K71LAUEA
RECOVERY GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Resolution 743-20, adopted on October 7, 2020, in accordance
with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
authorized the Planning Department to provide grants totaling $3,624,374 to
various nonprofit organizations to provide disaster relief, recovery, mitigation or
remediation assistance for physical damages or losses suffered by the 2018
Kilauea eruption; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department specified qualified nonprofit
organizations, projects, descriptions and grant awards in Resolution 743-20,
"Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal sponsor for Vacationland Hawaii Community
Association has changed from Hawaii Rise Foundation to Men of Pa`a; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department requests that "Exhibit A" be replaced
with "Exhibit A as Amended"; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,
that Resolution 743-20 is hereby amended to include "Exhibit A as Amended".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25,
Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, the Planning Department is
authorized to provide grants totaling $3,624,374 to various nonprofit organizations
as specified in "Exhibit A as Amended".
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Planning
Department, and the Department of Finance.

Hooulu-Lahui, KOKL plans to bring their leased $500,000.00
Stabilizing Kua O Ka La by property (Mani Mau Facility) into CoH
renovating facilities for code compliance for use as a school;
County Code Use Compliance including ADA, building, fire, and
occupancy permits.
Malama O Puna, Malama O Puna and Leilani Community $375,000.00
Leilani Estates Kilauea Association. plan to repair roads
Recovery Project damaged by the eruption. Repair
sections of Kahukai, Moku, Malama,
Kupono, and Nohea streets.
Food Security Hawaii, Seeks to rebuild farm lost by Nui Lani $350,000.00
Nui Lani Farm Kilauea Farms by rebuilding greenhouses and
Disaster Recovery replanting orchards.
Fellowship for Perpetual Seeks to rebuild farm cooperative by $280,000.00
Growth, reestablishing farming and orchards
Kin Domains LLC Recovery through the purchase of trees, soil, tools,
and equipment, also fencing to control
pigs.
Grassroots Church, Plans for job creation, sustainable $275,000.00
Kuleana Project agriculture, and community
engagement.
