HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 584 Draft 01 2020-2022RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 743-20 AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO AWARD FUNDS TO VARIOUS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH THE KĪLAUEA RECOVERY GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Resolution 743-20, adopted on October 7, 2020, in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, authorized the Planning Department
to provide grants totaling $3,624,374 to various nonprofit organizations to provide disaster relief, recovery, mitigation or remediation assistance for physical damages or losses suffered
by the 2018 Kīlauea eruption; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department specified qualified nonprofit organizations, projects, descriptions and grant awards in Resolution 743-20, “Exhibit A”; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal sponsor for Vacationland Hawai‘i Community Association has changed from Hawai‘i Rise Foundation to Men of Pa‘a; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department requests that “Exhibit A” be replaced with “Exhibit A as Amended”; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, that Resolution 743-20 is hereby amended to include “Exhibit A as Amended”.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Planning Department is authorized to provide grants totaling
$3,624,374 to various nonprofit organizations as specified in “Exhibit A as Amended”.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Planning Department, and the Department
of Finance.
