CALL TO The regular meeting of the Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public
ORDER: Safety was called to order at 9:03 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Kailua-Kona,
by Mr. Holeka Goro Inaba, Chair.

AWARD TO XYLON TAKATA, KA`U PATROL OFFICER—HAWAI`I
POLICE DEPARTMENT

Motion to Close File: Ms. Lee Loy moved to close file on Comm. 176.18.
Seconded by Ms. David.
CHR. INABA: Good morning everyone. And I'd like to welcome our Haweo
Award recipient and his sergeant to the front table at this time. You can come
right up here. And this morning we are awarding the Haweo Award to Xylon
Takata, who is one of our Ka`u Patrol Officers. And I'll ask Sergeant Duldulao

(Duffy)to give the introduction and the reason for Mr. Takata being selected as
the recipient. So you folks can both have a seat and then you'll just click your
mic on and speak directly into the mic. Good morning.

CERTIFICATE OF (Note: At this time, the August 2022 HAWEO Award was presented
APPRECIATION: to Xylon Takata, Ka`u Patrol Officer—Hawai`i Police Department, in
recognition of going above and beyond the call of duty. Sergeant Duffy
Duldulao came forward and provided statements regarding his exceptional
activities in service to the community. Chair Inaba provided a celebratory
Hawaiian Chant.)

Communication 176.18. All those in favor, please say "aye."
