Committee Member Heather Kimball asked whether there was any procedure in place as to who gets
called first from the "on call" list, and Mr. Messina indicated that the Department of Human Resources
has been working on the procedures, which are still in its draft stages. He pointed out that when people
apply for permanent positions as park caretakers,the department is unable to give the temporary worker
the position because they weren't trained. Ms. Kimball concluded by stating she is in support of this
resolution.
Committee Chair Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder concluded the discussion on this measure by stating this
resolution has an ingenious purpose and likes the direction it's headed to.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 561-22, and
recommends its adoption.
