Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 214, reports as follows:
Bill No. 214,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 1012 dated
September 16, 2022, as amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County
of Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants—Hawai`i County Roadblock Program account
($62,578.20); and appropriates the same to the Hawai`i County Police Department Roadblock Program
account,bringing the total appropriation to $487,578.20. The additional funds would be used by the
Police Department to reduce the number of drivers operating a vehicle while impaired.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 214, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
