On behalf of The Office of Community Services,the State Designated Agency to administer The
Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)through the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA). We strongly support Resolution 198-12 to provide monetary funding to the Hawaii Food
Basket.
OCS would like to acknowledge the increased need for food assistance and share our strong
appreciation to The Hawaii Food Basket for their support,dedication and long term partnership in
providing USDA commodities to those residents in need on the island of Hawaii.
Please feel free to call me if you have any further questions related to The Emergency Food Assistance
Program (TEFAP)and our ongoing relationship and strong support for The Hawaii Food Basket as they
continue to effectively administer USDA foods on the Island of Hawaii.
