Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 224,reports as follows:
Bill No. 224, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 1039 dated
September 30, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 22-64, as amended, relating to public improvements and
financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
This bill adds the Planning Kona Open Space Network Plan—Fair Share project($250,000)to the
Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from Fair Share Contributions($250,000), and
would be used to enhance opportunities for residents and visitors to engage in recreational, educational,
subsistence, and gathering activities.
There was no discussion for this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 224, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
