Your Committee on Regenerative Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Environmental Management,
to which was referred Communication No. 1035, reports as follows:
Communication No. 1035, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated September 27, 2022,
submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the nomination of Natalie Reynolds to the
Game Management Advisory Commission, pursuant to Section 6-9.3 of the Hawaii County Charter.
A motion to move Communication No. 1035 to full Council with a positive recommendation was
made by Council Member Rebecca Villegas; seconded by Council Member Susan Lee Loy.
Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth, shared with Your Committee of
nominee's education and business accolades, and her fishing, hunting, and tracking experience
equating to an important contributor to the Game Management Commission representing Council
District 7. If approved, nominee Reynolds would serve a term ending December 31, 2026.
Nominee Reynolds was not present for the meeting and was not available via phone outreach.
A consensus of Your Committee noted the importance of nominees be present for their approval
before Committee, with Council Member Villegas noting her disappointment as nominee
represents Council District 7. Due to time restraints noted, the matter was reluctantly moved
forward for Council approval.
Your Committee on Regenerative Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Environmental Management is
in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 1035, and recommends confirmation
of the appointment of Natalie Reynolds to the Game Management Advisory Commission.
