Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, to which was referred
Communication No. 1033, reports as follows:
Communication No. 1033, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated September 27, 2022,
submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the nomination of Dylan Andrion of
Council District 9 to the Police Commission.
Executive Assistant Pomaika`i Bartolome was present at Council Chambers in Hilo and
introduced the nominee who appeared via zoom.
Council Member Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder inquired as to why nominee chose this commission.
Chair Inaba stated that confirmation before Council would take place in two weeks, and that the
nominee is invited to attend.
Pursuant to Sections 7-2.2 and 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter, members of the Police
Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent
of Communication No. 1033, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Dylan Andrion to
the Police Commission.
