RE: Resolution Authorizing Mayor To Enter into Host County Participation
Agreement with NACo and Providing that Sufficient Funds Be Budgeted
To Host Western Interstate Region (WIR) Annual Conference in the Year
2001 at Waikoloa, Hawaii
For the Council's review and approval, I am submitting a resolution which authorizes the
mayor to enter into a Host County Participation Agreement to host the Yeaz 2001
Western Interstate Region Annual Conference with NACo and provides that sufficient
funds will be budgeted in future fiscal yeazs to cover the anticipated obligation of the
county under the above agreement.

RE: Resolution No. 166-99 A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Host
County Participation Agreement with the National Association of Counties
(NACo) to Host the Western Interstate Region (WIR) Annual Conference in in
the Year 2001 at Waikoloa, Hawaii.
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approva] is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
