RESOLUTION NO. 605 22 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF NALOXONE KITS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Health& Harm Reduction Center is donating two hundred • (200)Naloxone kits to the County of Hawai`i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, these Naloxone kits, valued at approximately $15,000, will be utilized by Fire Department staff for emergency treatment of opioid overdose; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and WHEREAS,the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the County of Hawai`i, accepts this donation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Heather Lusk, MSW, Executive Director, Hawai`i Health&Harm Reduction Center, 677 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 226, Honolulu, HI 96813, acknowledging this generous donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
