STATE OF HAWA.I`I R ArE OP•NP•f SOLUTION N . 613 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME HAWAII FOR ITS COMMUNITY-BASED REENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING PROGRAM IN EAST HAWAII. WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to assist justice-involved men, women, and youth with reintegration into community life through employment, education, housing, and appropriate services; and WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii offers a portfolio of critical reentry services in its Reentry and Recovery Housing Program as lack of housing poses a major complication for successful reentry; and WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is seeking funds to help pay for expenses associated with its community-based Reentry and Recovery Housing Program, such as security cameras and associated equipment and supplies; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports improving the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for its community-based Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in East Hawaii. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
