Sako via Communication No. <br /> 1069 <br /> dated October 14, 2022, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Federal Emergency <br /> Management Agency pursuant to Hawai`i Revised Statutes Section 46-7, for a grant to the Hawaii <br /> County Fire Department. <br /> This resolution allows for the receipt of$494,900, which would be used toward the department's <br /> purchase and installation of washer/extractor/dryers for personal protective equipment and for grant <br /> writer fees. <br /> Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz asked for Fire Department Chief Ian Smith to provide a brief <br /> explanation on this measure.
