Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 232,reports as follows:
Bill No. 232,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 1067 dated
October 14, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
This bill increases revenues in the Block Grant Program Income account($250,000); and appropriates
the same to the West Hawai`i Emergency Shelter and Facility Energy Efficiency Improvements account,
bringing the total appropriation to $400,000. The additional funds will be used to renovate the facility in
accordance with the Fiscal Year 2021 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 232, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
