®..14 <br /> COUNTY OF HAW I`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> ATE°OF•NP.N <br /> RESOLUTION N v <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAII <br /> TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 27th ANNUAL KWXX <br /> O`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that brings <br /> community-based organizations, government, foundations, and businesses together to build <br /> awareness and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, KWXX FM is a radio station that is hosting its 27th Annual KWXX <br /> Ho`olaule`a on January 28, 2023, in downtown Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is working with KWXX FM to increase awareness of the <br /> culture and history of Hawaii Island by presenting the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a free block <br /> parry featuring live contemporary and traditional music and hula in downtown Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a is a drug-free and alcohol-free family- <br /> friendly event with numerous stages and entertainers positioned around downtown Hilo that <br /> attracts residents from around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is requesting funds for security, clean-up expenses, and <br /> traffic safety signage; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide <br /> compliance to liquor laws at drug-free and alcohol-free events; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawaii to assist with expenses for the 27'Annual <br /> KWXX Ho`olaule`a. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
