Dear Council Chair Arakaki:
I am pleased to support the nomination of Margarita Hopkins to serve as the Director of
Research and Development for the County of Hawaii. For nearly a decade, I have
worked with "Daidai" on numerous projects dealing with agriculture and have found her
to be totally dedicated to enhancing the economy of the County of Hawaii. She is very
willing to embrace new ideas and to look at issues from a different perspective.
Ms. Hopkins has great enthusiasm and energy and is a hands-on individual, one who is
not afraid of getting her "hands dirty' to a get a job done. She is a consensus builder,
working well with an impacted community. She does all this with a smile and a positive
attitude.
I believe that "Daidai" deserves this opportunity to serve the County in this capacity.
She will bring a lot of experience to the job and a sense of commitment that the job
requires.
