I am Florante "Danny" Molina, President of the Big Island Papaya Growers Association.
On behalf of our members and officers, I am writing this letter to express our full support to Mrs.
Mazgarita Hopkins to be the next Director of the Department of Research and Development of
the County of Hawaii.
Mrs. Hopkins has been a very active supporter of the papaya industry on Big Island. She has the
passion and energy to move the papaya industry and all other agricultural commodities on Big
Island to greater heights. Her relationship with the agricultural community especially the growers
is very good. Big Island growers and the County of Hawaii need her expertise. We need someone
like her to make things happen.
With less than a year to serve as Director of the Department of Research and Development of the
County of Hawaii, all she could do is to continue the good things and deeds that she has been
doing as an employee of the same department. She has been involved in good projects that help
the growers directly. Let the less than a year service of the Director of the Department of
Research and Development of the County of Hawaii be worthwhile by confirming Mrs.
Margarita Hopkins.
Her confirmation means Agriculture is important in the County of Hawaii.
