Additional federal funds in the amount of$219,900 are being provided by the Office of National Drug Control Policy to be used for operations to investigate drug related cases. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Police Department's HI Impact Grant account, bringing the total appropriation to $610,000. The Police Department respectfully requests that this bill be waived from Committee and be placed on the December 21, 2022 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
