Additional federal funds in the amount of$90,000 are being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division to be used to increase the capacity of substance abuse prevention systems on Hawaii Island. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney's Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator account, bringing the total appropriation to $200,000. The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney respectfully requests that this bill be waived from Committee and be placed on the December 21, 2022 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
