STATE OF HAWAI‘I
RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF FOOTWEAR FOR USE BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, OluKai is donating footwear specifically designed for Beach Lifeguards, valued at approximately $19,840 to the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, OluKai will supply three pairs of footwear for each Water Safety Officer to utilize while on duty; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of the Mayor, Department of Finance and Fire Department.
