Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
In accordance with the County Charter Section 13-4 (c), I submit Gerald Kosaki of District 3 for
reappointment to the Fire Commission.
The Council confirmed Mr. Kosaki on May 5, 2021. He filled the remainder of a term of
resignation with a term expiration date of December 31, 2022. He is now eligible to serve a full
term.
As noted previously, Mr. Kosaki retired as Battalion Chief in 2018 from the Hawai`i Fire
Department after 29 years of dedicated service. He is committed to remaining active and
involved, volunteering his time and experience to numerous civic and educational organizations.
If confirmed, he will serve a term ending December 31, 2027.
