Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Dr. Dawood Y. Farahi of District 5 to the Salary Commission.
Dr. Farahi served as President of Kean University in Newark, New Jersey for 17 years. He brings
a considerable amount of experience and knowledge in the areas of operations research, finance,
and public service activities for which he received awards and recognition.
Dr. Farahi was also honored by the Research and Development Council of New Jersey as the
2020 Educator of the Year at the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Awards ceremony in recognition of
. his innovative leadership in higher education. If confirmed,he will serve a term ending
December 31, 2023.
