Bill 221 (Draft 3) (2020-2022): Amends Chapters 17 and 26 of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Fire. Updates and revises the Hawaii County Fire Code to
incorporate the 2018 National Fire Protection Association standards and adopt the 2018 Hawaii
State Fire Code. Ayes: Council Members Evans, Galimba, Inaba, Kagiwada, Kdneali`i-Kleinfelder,
Kierkiewicz, Lee Loy, Villegas, and Chair Kimball—9;Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused:
None.
Bill 1: Amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as Amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii
for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2023. Increases revenues in the Federal Grants—High Intensity
Impact Grant account ($219,900); and appropriates the same to the High Intensity Impact Grant
account, bringing the total appropriation to $610,000. Ayes: Council Members Evans, Galimba,
Inaba, Kagiwada, Kdneali`i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Lee Loy, Villegas, and Chair Kimball—9;
Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
Bill 2: Amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as Amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii
for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2023. Increases revenues in the Federal Grants—Substance
Abuse Prevention Coordinator account ($90,000); and appropriates the same to the Substance Abuse
Prevention Coordinator account, bringing the total appropriation to $200,000. Ayes: Council
Members Evans, Galimba, Inaba, Kagiwada, Kdneali`i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Lee Loy, Villegas,
and Chair Kimball—9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
