No. 47/Res.No. 34-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:01 P.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 34-23,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 34-23,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 47 <br /> dated December 15, 2022, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii <br /> Department of Human Services. <br /> This resolution allows for the receipt of$2 million which would be used to support new and existing <br /> programs that connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness to appropriate services and <br /> resources. <br /> Per Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder's request, Community Engagement Division Manager <br /> Sharon Hirota provided a brief explanation of this resolution. <br /> Committee Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy asked Ms. Hirota if the funds discussed in this resolution <br /> could be used with previous legislative actions that the council has taken up to provide for the current <br /> homeless situation in our County.
