i <br /> i <br /> I <br /> • �511/11 i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> e_ <br /> SOLUTION NO. 23 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF <br /> DONATION OF UP TO TEN (10) PALLET SHELTER UNITS FOR <br /> THE OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Maui is donating up to ten (10) pallet shelter <br /> units, valued at approximately $70,000 to the Office of Housing and <br /> Community Development; and <br /> WHEREAS, these shelter units will be used as emergency shelters to <br /> address homelessness; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of <br /> donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or <br /> any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the <br /> Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or <br /> personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the <br /> Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the <br /> Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development <br /> recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County <br /> Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
