Subject: Letter of Opposition for Ali'i Highway in Bills 3 and 4
Aloha Finance Committee:
Please do not allocate any monies to the potential project of Ali'i Highway, which is in Bill 3 that you will be considering
at your January 4, 2023 meeting.
The Ali'i Highway(and its other names of Ali'i Parkway, and Kahulu'u/Keauhou Highway)was stopped due to the high
concentration of burial grounds.The cost of this roadway was estimated to be$50,000,000 in 2005;at the October 2022
Leeward Planning Commission, the Deputy Planning Director stated that the estimated cost of this potential project is
now$250,000,000.
Please do not allocate any additional public money for this ill fated project.
