I am commenting on the January 4th agenda in regards to the allocation of excess tax moneys being allotte to t6iµ '
proposed Alii Highway.This is a misguided plan which: w "'
1. Desecrates Hawaiian culture through uprooting and destroying ancient burials.
2. Does not solve the issue of over crowding on Moku o Keawe, Hawaii Island.This plan only brushes the problem under
the rug for future generations to deal with. Mass development is the issue, there are too many visitors being allowed to
visit at one time and commercial developers allowed to build out this island just like Maui and Oahu . Solve the problem
at the root.
3. Heavily benefits tourism and malahini which want more American conveniences, not a Hawaiian lifestyle, of small
community living and a slower paced lifestyle.
4. The natual ahupua'a systems(ecosystems) of the trona cost are under attack and continue to be smashed with
continued developments such as these.
5. Does not help my haumana (students)get to school,the state has a huge bussing problem for haumana, they need to
allocate these monies to improving school bussing first. We don't even have the proper number of buses at my small
public school and all schools in the Kona area, (we have lost dozens of haumana because there are not enough buses or
bus drivers)fix this issue first!
6. Let us not forget the Hawaiian Kingdom is still illegally occupied by a foreign government. War Crimes continue and
the War Criminal Report, documented by the Royal Commission and United Nations Human Rights Council, the War
Criminal Report(listing of people committing war crimes against the Hawaiian Kingdom)grows longer with every
desecrated decision the county commits. I implore all representatives to be aware of their actions and votes on issues
like these, as your actions are documented by the international community.
7. Ask yourself, does this world need more asphalt or more aloha...
