Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 46, reports as follows:
Communication No. 46, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated December 15, 2022,
requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Dr. Dawood Farahi to the
Salary Commission.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome, was present in the Hilo Council
Chambers to introduce Dr. Farahi, who was also present in chambers.
Pursuant to Section 13-28(a) of the Hawaii County Charter, members of the Salary Commission
shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 46, and recommends the nomination of Dr. Dawood Farahi to
the Salary Commission.
