Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
In accordance with the County Charter Section 13-4 (c), I submit Ms. Daina Saiki for
reappointment to the Board of Appeals.
The Council confirmed Ms. Saiki on August 17, 2022. She filled the remainder of a term of
resignation with a term expiration date of December 31, 2022. She is now eligible to serve a 5-
year term.
As noted previously, Ms. Saiki has been a resident of Hawaii for 54 years. She earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She is a former
Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant, and an active volunteer serving with various organizations
throughout Hawaii Island. If confirmed, she will serve a term ending December 31, 2027.
