I OF COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAIII f pFNA SOLUTION NO. 43 23 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PULAA IA KONA HERITAGE PRESERVATION COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES FOR ITS 1925 MONUMENT RESTORATION PROJECT IN HOLUALOA. WHEREAS, the Pulama Ta Kona Heritage Preservation Council is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that preserves,protects, and enhances the special qualities of Kona, and provides information on preservation of historic places and sites; and WHEREAS, the 1925 Monument Restoration Project in Hblualoa is one of the last publicly accessible structures of 30 small temples and Shinto shrines that once existed and is now being restored by Pulama Ia Kona Heritage Preservation Council before its inscriptions are irreparably destroyed; and WHEREAS, Pulama Ia Kona Heritage Preservation Council is requesting funds to assist with expenses for its educational website, mobile application, and materials and supplies to increase community access to the monument's historic information; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote positive, character-building projects in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, such as Pulama Ia Kona Heritage Preservation Council's 1925 Monument Restoration Project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Pulama Ta Kona Heritage Preservation Council to assist with expenses for its 1925 Monument Restoration Project in Holualoa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
