A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF THREE (3) LUCAS COMPRESSION SYSTEM DEVICES AND ACCESSORIES TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Hilo Medical Center Foundation is donating three (3) LUCAS Compression System devices and accessories to the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, these devices, valued at approximately $52,760.85, will be utilized by Fire Department staff for emergency treatment involving chest compressions; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Hilo Medical Center Foundation, c/o Lisa Rantz, 1190 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720, acknowledging
this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
