Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 54, reports as follows:
Communication No. 54, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated January 5, 2023, requests
the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Christopher Ho to the Board of
Ethics.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome, was present with Mr. Ho in the Hilo
Chambers and introduced the nominee via videoconference.
Pursuant to Section 14-5(a) of the Hawaii County Charter, members of the Board of Ethics shall
be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 54, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Christopher Ho to the Board of Ethics.
