OVNzvfoc'kk <br /> 'fP�OFY4P� <br /> SOLUTION N . 54 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE GRASSROOTS <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP TO INCREASE ACCESS FOR DISABLED <br /> PERSONS AT THE KURTISTOWN PARK.. <br /> WHEREAS,the Grassroots Community Development Group is a 501(c)3 nonprofit <br /> organization with a mission to strengthen our communities through the cooperative development <br /> of programs and services for East Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, Grassroots Community Development Group is continuing their assistance <br /> to the County with cleaning and weeding at the Ola`a Skatepark at Kurtistown Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kurtistown Park requires a handicapped walkway from the exit of the <br /> park to the entrance to Ola`a Skatepark to become Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) <br /> compliant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kurtistown Park and Ola`a Skatepark provides a convenient and safe <br /> place for families and youth to gather and recreate; and <br /> WHEREAS, Grassroots Community Development Group is requesting funds to <br /> construct an ADA compliant walkway linking the Kurtistown Park and Ola`a Skatepark; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this improvement work as <br /> it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to provide the public with safe <br /> and enjoyable activities and facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resoltuion identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equiptment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Grassroots Community Development Group to <br /> increase access for disabled persons at the Kurtistown Park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
