i <br /> +T''i Nw Mo�•� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,yE Oi•NAd <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 55 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND <br /> MEDIATION, INC., FOR ITS PEER MEDIATION PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., doing business as West Hawaii Mediation <br /> Center, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower individuals, <br /> organizations, and communities to deal with conflict by providing mediation, facilitation, and <br /> education services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., is partnering with various schools to reduce <br /> conflict through safe, youth-centered conflict resolution, and developing life skills to navigate <br /> conflict in healthy ways; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., has requested financial assistance to defray the <br /> costs for supplies and training materials necessary to support its Peer Mediation Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports the services provided by <br /> Big Island Mediation, Inc., as it fails within its program goals and objectives for domestic and <br /> family violence prevention and intervention initiatives; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District I will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Big Island Mediation, Inc., for its Peer Mediation <br /> Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
