_Communication No.43 Reappointment of Gerald Kosaki to the Fire Commission
The Hawaii Fire Fighters Association (HFFA),Local 1463,IAFF,AFL-CIO,represents more
than 2,100 professional and 1000 retired fire fighters throughout the State,which includes more
than 375 Bargaining Unit 11 (BU 11)active members serving with the County of Hawaii Fire
Department.
HFFA strongly supports the reappointment of Gerald Kosaki to continue to serve
on the Hawaii Fire Commission.
Mr. Kosaki's professional experience makes him an ideal Fire Commissioner.For'
over 12 years,he served on the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association's Executive Board and was
instrumental in addressing members'issues as a liaison between the union and the fire
administration. In his role as Battalion Chief, Mr. Kosaki partnered with many community
stakeholders to develop programs to increase resources available to the men and women of
the Hawaii Fire Department in order to enhance their safety while performing their duties.
On behalf of the HFFA Executive Board and the Bargaining Unit 11 members,we
appreciate your favorable consideration of Mr. Kosaki's reappointment.
