This letter will serve to advise you of my steadfast opposition to Bill 162 presently
bafore the Hawaii Coumy Cowteil. I reside az 77_287 WikAlia Street, about 3o feet from the
ilnersection in question Bilk 162 proposes to eliminate the shop on ]?ualam Street at the
intersection of Pualsai and Rrlkolia and move the stop to W
ikolia Street, If passed in its preset?t
form, this Bill will be tha. rouse of serious aeeidmts at this intersection This is so because the
wctreme grade of VVikolia Street, wlneh is a mauka-makai road, makes observation of tt~c on
Pvalani imposwble to drivers approaching the intersection from either side of arilcokia Street Tlris
situation would become even more difficult if drivers on Ptlalani were not roquired to slow dawn
far a stop at the imetsectiaa. Drivers heading mwka on W ikolia are unable to see traffic naming
either way along Pualani u~il they altrrost effier tlx intersection itself If Ptralaai is made a
through way, aoadems are inevitable- A fora-way stop would be more efficient end safe.
