Subject: New Animal Agency
I have lived in Hawaii for 35 years. During most of that time We had a Humane Society that actually worked. Now animals are
suffering because we have to have an appt to Euthanize.Appts for everything! Impossible to even talk to someone on the
phone.You have to email. Police overworked and unable to help critically injured animals when called for. I called for help for
a tiny puppy that was trapped in the forest. It cried for hours before dying because animal control said they couldn't walk 100
yards into the lot to save the poor thing. I am disabled and could not walk or I would have saved it! I could go on and on
about the abuses in my neighborhood alone. No laws no help anymore. Our Humane Society here on the Island is now a
joke!!! We need national awareness news national news coverage as to the animal suffering on Big Island and especially on
the east side. I guess that is what it will take before our elected officials will step up to the plate and earn our tax dollars and
