Your Policy Committee on Planning, Land Use, and Development, to which was referred
Bill No. 19, reports as follows:
Bill 19, submitted by Council Member Jenn Kagiwada, via Communication No. 78, dated
January 18, 2023, repeals Chapter 6, Article 2, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition,
as Amended), Relating to Dance Halls.
Committee Member Kagiwada introduced the bill to remove outdated language in the Hawai`i
County Code concerning dance halls.
The vote was then taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with a favorable
recommendation and passed with nine "ayes."
Your Policy Committee on Planning, Land Use, and Development is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill 19, and recommends its passage on first reading.
