Dear Chair Inaba:
wish to respectfully submit my support for Hawaii County Council to vote unanimously in
favor of the aforementioned Res. 51-23 (Comm. 90), authorizing the Director of Finance to
negotiate a sixty-five year lease with the State of Hawaii for the purpose of the development
and construction of a Public Library by the Hawaii State Public Library System, situated at
Waikoloa, District of South Kohala, County and State of Hawaii and identified as Tax Map Key:
6-8-041-020 at a set lease rental amount of$0.00 per year.
As a 21 year resident of Waikoloa (30 on island) I welcome Hawaii State Public Library System
finally agreeing to a parcel to begin developing, building and operating the long awaited library
for our community and look forward to this triggering future Hawaii State House and Senate
budget requests and thereafter approvals for State CIP funding to move the project along.
Mahalo for bringing forth this Resolution, our community anxiously awaits this long overdue
promise made to finally begin, with this land lease finalized.
