Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 76, reports as follows:
Communication No. 76, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated January 20, 2023,
requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of David A. Wiseman to the
Merit Appeals Board.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome was present in the Council Chambers
and introduced Mr. Wiseman, who attended via videoconference.
Pursuant to Article 7, Chapter 1, Section 7-1.2(a) of the Hawai`i County Charter, members of the
Merit Appeals Board shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 76, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
David A. Wiseman to the Merit Appeals Board.
